Lunch is built around plates of chicken-fried steak, meatloaf, catfish, Jamaican jerk chicken, or house sausage, each served with a choice of house mates including jalapeño creamed spinach, mac and cheese, or candied yams. Three- or four-vegetable plates are available without meat.
The Trove note
A Manor Road soul-food room that has fed UT and the eastside since 1998. The vegetable plate is the value play; the chicken-fried steak is the reason most regulars come.
